  5. Small Groups What are the major components of your prevention efforts? (e.g.: educational session facilitation, parent training, materials development, scheduling and other admin, evaluation, coordinating community events, etc.) What are some of the roles that volunteers might fill within those components?

  14. Elevator Speech • Use simple language • Avoid jargon • Get to the point • Be short and concise (15 seconds or so)

  15. Elevator Speech • Open with your name and a brief description of what you do. (This should NOT be just your job title). • Talk about what you actually do. In plain/accessible language. What do you do for people, organizations, the community, etc? • Say something about the impact of your work. Be specific. • End with a call to action. Ask for something. The more specific your ask, the more successful you’re likely to be. (And, if you don’t have a specific ask, why are you talking to them in the first place?)
