Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of higher education University of Dammam Saudi Society of Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases المملكة العربية السعودية وزارة التعليم العالي جـامعـة الدمام الجمعية السعودية للأحياء الدقيقة الطبية والأمراض المعدية • Foundation of the Society: * • The Saudi Society of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease (SSMMID) • was established in 2004 with head office at King Fahd Hospital of the University, Al-Khobar. • With the establishment of the Scientific Society, the Saudi Society of Microbiology & Infectious Diseases the thrust of the work of this society activities has been to develop theoretical & applied knowledge and evaluate consultations & with the public & private sectors, accordance with the By-Laws & Rules, of Scientific Societies in the Saudi Universities. • * Slogan : ( Prevention is better than cure .) • * Vision : To render the Arabian Gulf free of microbial & infectious diseases . • Mission: To endeavor to control microbial & infectious diseases . • * Objectives of the Society : • 1/ To develop Scientific thought in the field of Microbiology & Infectious Diseases. • 2/ To forge scientific working relationship among the members of the society. • 3/ To provide scientific consultations in Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases. • 4/ To improve scientific & professional performance of members of the society . • 5/ To facilitate the exchange of scientific thought and ideas among the different arms of the society. • * Activities of the Society : • 1/ Encourage the conduct of scientific research & consultations. • 2/ Write and translate Scientific books in the field of Medical Microbiology & Infectious diseases and related areas. • 3/ Conduct Scientific studies on applied practices. • 4/ Hold symposia, seminars and workshops on medical microbiology and infectious diseases. • 5/ Publish studies, brochures, publications and periodic als on Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. • 6/ Participate in National & International exhibitions • 7/ Invite Scientists and academicians to participate in the Society’s activities. • 8/ Organize scientific toursand competitions in the area of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. • Society Members: • 1/ Dr. Huda Bukhary President Of the Society . • 2/ Dr. Reem Al-Jindan Vice-president Of the Society . • 3/ Dr. Amer Al-Omar General Financial Manager . • 4/Dr. MsheraEnaniDirector of Central region • 5/Dr Ahmad Al- Barrag Vice Director of Central region. • 5/ Dr. NerarBahabreDirector of Western region. • 6/ Dr. BatoolAli Vice Director of the Western Region. • 7/ Dr. Dr. MuhamedQotabVice Director of the Western Region. • .Member 8/ Dr. Mohammed Garot • 9/ Dr. Mohammed al HazmiDirector of the southern region.
