  1. Grønn Kontakt GRØNN KONTAKT: PLUG and PLAY

  2. Electrification of Transport - challenges • Infrastructure investments in chargers • The availability of DC (fast chargers) across the country • Relevant locations of AC and DC chargers for public charging. • Demands on the electric grid – robust or poor grid? • Fair grid tariffs for connecting 50 – 150 kW DC chargers. • Fair prices for AC and DC charging • Only clean energy for charging of EV cars. • Roaming

  3. GK - Digital transformation 2018 Digital as a core value 2015 Digital as a business 2012 Digital as a project Client centric focus Digital architecture in place Dedicated “lean” organization.. Test of BMs Pure digital BMs Accelerated learning for digital transformation Development of customer centric ecosystems. Bundling of new services Pilots and demos Open innovation Test and learn approach

  4. GK - Digital strategy 2012 2015 2018 Charging stations Internet of Things Technology Smartphone Early adapters Customers Mobile Internet users Always connected users

  5. Digital platform design Producers (GK) Suppliers of platform services Customers Buyers of platform services Value and data exchange and feedback Providers Owner PLATFORM A platform is a plug-and-play business model that allows multiple participants (producers and consumers) to connect to it, interact with each other and create and exchange value. A platform can be defines as a digital environment characterized by near zero marginal costs of access, reproduction and distribution of information. APIs deliver raw data, content and services. APIs are giving rise to a new App “value chain”.

  6. 100 % clean energy to EV cars Smartphone – the most important marketplace • Connecting chargers and generation plants in real time • High frequency trading integrated into retail market. • P2P market model • Plug and play business model

  7. in a nutshell • Owners: • Statkraft (41%) • Agder Energi, a regional utility (41%) • 21 other energy utilities (18%) • Partner agreements: • Circle K • Coop • Transaction-based, highly scalable business model • Currently ramping up by building 1-3 FC stations per week • Aiming at profitability by year-end 2017

  8. A one-stop-shopping solution for charging

  9. FAST CHARGING

  10. What are we building?

  11. Min Side: Our self-service customer portal • Link users (family members, employees etc.) who can use charging app on your account • Manage, order and block RFID tags • Full overview over invoices and status • Discount overview • Option to add Visa / Master card for payment • Usage statistics, can also be downloaded • Etc.

  12. The GK App • Start and stop charging easily • Find charge points • See charge point status • Navigate to charge points • Automatically logged in to «Min Side»: No password or separate login needed from your own phone.

  13. HOME / WORK CHARGING

  14. Chargewith residual capacity in building • Local controller • Can control and load balance 1 to 1.000 chargers • Runs all hardware which supports OCPP 1.6 • Unit cost < 100€, affordable in private homes • Does not require digital metering or other 3rd party hardware • Load balancing with building permits new charging options, i.e. : • «Charge my car as fast as possible» (max out my main fuse) • «Charge my car when the sun is shining» (input from local PV controller) • «Charge my car as cheaply as possible» (get price data from spot market and set charging profile accordingly) • Owner can rent out his charging point when not using it • Set time & tariffs through «Min Side»

  15. One stop shopping • Easy, web-based ordering process • GK takes care of everything • Ordering • Installation • Financing • Billing and transaction management • Operations and monitoring • Customer chooses • Basic setup • HW Choice: Which charger do you want? • Financing options: One-time payment, or monthly payment • Standardized offer possible • Offer can include specific options, i.e. specific charger, bundled with specific electricity provider, bundled with fast charging, etc.

  16. ROAMING

  17. Roaming in a commercial charging market • Consolidation in national markets • Local / regional operators disappear • No longer natural to roam with other national operators • International, bilateral roaming over OCPP • Cost effective • Scalable • Everyone still in control of own customers and infrastructure • Why roaming? • Access to new geographies • Provide one-stop shopping for OEMs • Create a cheaper and more seamless user experience than with drop-in charging

  18. GrønnKontakt: Access to the OFA network • Open Fast Charging Alliance (OFA) : European fast charging networks commit to seamless European electric car travel • Founding members: • GrønnKontakt (Norway) • Fastned (NL) • Smatrics (Austria, Germany) • GOtthardFASTcharge (Switzerland) • Sodetrel (France) • Quality networks with high availability and 24/7 customer service ensure good user experience • The alliance is open to anyone who operates charging points, and who adhere to the quality standards
