  5. “DANTE” - November 2013 Roccalumera – Messina (ITALY) • Roccalumera is a Comune (municipality) in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 180 km east of Palermo and about 25 km southwest of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,145 and an area of 8.8 km². • Roccalumera is located in the middle between Messina and Taormina.

  7. “DANTE” - November 2013 Roccalumera – Messina (ITALY) • Taormina (Sicilian: Taurmina, Greek: Ταυρομένιον Tauromenion, Latin: Tauromenium) is a Comune and small town on the east coast of the island of Sicily, Italy, in the Province of Messina, about midway between Messina and Catania. • Taormina has been a very popular tourist destination since the 19th century. It has popular beaches (accessible via an aerial tramway) on the Ionian sea . Taormina can be reached via highways (autostrade) from Messina from the north and Catania from the south.

  9. “DANTE” - November 2013 Roccalumera – Messina (ITALY) • The city's main resources are its seaports (commercial and military shipyards), cruise tourism, commerce, agriculture (wine production and cultivating lemons, orange, mandarin oranges and olives). • Founded by Greek colonists in the 8th century BC, Messina was originally called Zancle, from the Greek: ζάγκλον meaning "scythe" because of the shape of its natural harbour (though a legend attributes the name to King Zanclus). • The city has been a Roman Catholic Archdiocese and Archimandrite seat since 1548 . The city has the University of Messina, founded in 1548 by Ignatius of Loyola.

The scenic beauty, the majesty of the olive trees, the simple life of the inhabitants whose hours they spend almost equal in total research of a world of fantastic size and surreal, make Mandanici a popular destination for those seeking tranquility and warmth. Offering books that deal with medicine, history and theology of the sixteenth century in the public library.

Courses for Enterprise managers; • 3. Courses for Tourist Marketing; • 4. Courses for Expert of Precious stones ;

Different courses for Artistic handcrafts (ceramic, wood, forged iron…) • 12.Social operators

Training Activities “DANTE” - November 2013 Roccalumera – Messina (ITALY) • Previous projects in Former “ Employement “ Eu Program • In 1996 it organized and financed the Interregional Project “ Magna Grecia “ n° 0459/E2/Y/M of the Ministry of Labour and E.S.F. During the development of the project it took care of the start up for enterprise creation, for research and for trainers training, vocational activities and it hold five courses addressed to 70 young people . (volet Youthstart ) • in1998it organized the Interregional Project “ Forgepam “ ,for Equal opportunities for women n° 0459/E2/Y/M of the Ministry of Labour and E.S.F. proposed by the University of Messina and "CoNISMa" ( Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversiario delle Scienze del Mare – National Consortium of e University of Sea’s Sciences ) together with 28 Italian Universities for the training of aquaculture tecnicians. (volet NOW ) Both projects had a European Partnership

Developedactivities “DANTE” - November 2013 Roccalumera – Messina (ITALY) The Cooperative ( and the Association ) , together with other public and private Bodies, has created the Litterary park “Quasimodo”. It has been financed by the European fund of Regional Development, as pilot project for the cultural tourism. It has also developed, and still develops, activities with social aims. We work much with aged peoples and we manage many cultural activities.
