ASTM Collaboration Area

The ASTM Collaboration Area is a web forum that enables task groups to accelerate the development of new standards or revisions. This space allows members to post draft documents, create discussions, set milestones, and invite participants. The collaboration area is temporary and will be removed once the work item is approved or expires. Users can access various tools for managing the collaboration area. This online work space is designed to prepare items for ballot and works in conjunction with Work Items, with information being deleted upon completion of the work item.

Purpose of Collaboration Space • Web forum that enables a task group to accelerate the development of a new standard or revision through: • posting draft documents and allowing task group members to comment • create discussion threads, post related documents, set milestones, invite new participants (both ASTM members and non-ASTM members), and email the collaboration participants. • The technical contact has administrative privileges for managing the collaboration area through the “Administrative Tools” Area.

  3. Lifespan of Collaboration Area • The task group collaboration area is a temporary space intended to facilitate the development of the work item. • When the work item is approved or expires, the collaboration area and all of its contents will be systematically removed and will not be retrievable. • None of the material from the collaboration area is retained
