ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLASS • Student teams given info about opening a franchise in Northern Kentucky. • Business Mentors-large/small group • Students use mentors and websites to help decide location, traffic flow, rent, population, zoning. • Experts in the field involved: real estate agent, accountant, entrepreneur, landlord. • Teams present franchise to panel of experts. • Experts decide best analysis for that particular franchise.
PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING • CB Learn Program with Cincinnati Bell • Fundraiser for the school • Students prepared: • Informational flyer • Registration forms • Dixie Dialog Announcement • PowerPoint to present at Parent/Teacher Conference and to other classes • Movie Maker Commercial for Website • Students prepared and recorded district-wide phone message
PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING-CONTINUED • Kiosk In The Commons • Students researched products to sell • Purchased products (funded by student-run bookstore) • Advertised the two-day event • Prepared booth layout and location • Dealt with customer service with products • Ultimate Goal – sell items with a profit!!!
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT • Students prepared advertising/marketing for Halloween Express during Homecoming week • Activities during pre-game, half-time and post-game. • Halloween Express supplied face paint, gift certificates, costumes and concert tickets. • Class decided on the type of advertising/marketing to be done.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT CONTINUED • QUIZNOS – paid for a percentage of the cost of printing student IDs to be able to place a coupon on the back of the ID. Students designed the coupon.
CULINARY CLASS • Catered for the Art Gallery openings • Local Artists • Dixie Art Students • Central Office Artists • Baked for the Taste of Cincinnati Magazine • 25 different cookie recipes from selected writers • Students baked the cookies • Magazine photographed the cookies for the December issue • Conducted taste tests of new products for Cincinnati magazine and submitted results.
