The Knights of Columbus • Chartered October 2nd, 1881 in New Haven Connecticut • They sought strength in solidarity, and security through unity of purpose and devotion to a holy cause: they vowed to be defenders of their country, their families and their faith. • Now are the largest Catholic Family fraternal service organization

  3. David M. Stotenbur Council 7237 • Chartered February 8th, 1979 at Catholic Community of St. Jude Parish in DeWitt • Currently at 329 members • Council meetings: Second Wednesday of each month, 8pm in the community center.

  4. Our Principles • Charity-First Degree • “Knights of Charity” • Unity-Second Degree • Fraternity-Third Degree • Patriotism-Fourth Degree • The Fourth Degree Color Corps is the most visible sign of the Knights of Columbus to the general public

  5. Memorial Chalice and Paten presented to widow and/or family after passing of Fourth Degree Sir Knight. • Engraved with Sir Knights name and date of death • St. Francis Assembly 2982

  9. Tootsie Roll drive to raise money for local agencies that serve the Developmentally Disabled Pro Life functions Summer Scripture Keeping Christ in Christmas Coats for kids Blankets for kids Kellie Sebrell Memorial Dewitt Trail Run Special Days Camps Red Cross Blood Drives Charitable Functions

  10. Church support functions • Monthly Rosary after 8:30 am mass, first Sunday of the month • Corporate Communion • Financial support for our baptismal font • Financial support for several building maintenance projects • Bishop Albers Trust Fund • Support for Seminarians

  11. Support of Youth Activities • Boysville • The Holy Cross Children Services childcare and family preservation agency • Annual Free throw contest • Annual College Scholarship • Vacation Bible School • Youth Jamboree • Shinsky orphanage project

  13. What We Believe • We believe in Jesus and his teachings • We believe in the sanctity of life, from conception to natural death • Believe in “One Nation Under God” • We are the protectors of the Church • We support our bishop, priests and religious
