Annual Performance Report Measurable and Rigorous Target: (2008-2009 data) • 13.5% of districts (5 districts) have a significant discrepancy in the rates of suspensions and expulsions of children with disabilities for greater than 10 days in a school year. Performance Data: (2008-2009 data) • 18.9% of districts (7 districts) are identified with a significant discrepancy in the rates of suspensions and expulsions of children with disabilities for greater than 10 days in a school year. This represents a change in denominator from 19 major districts to 37 districts, including all LEAs and charters.
Indicator 4 B – New for FFY 09 • Identify Measurable & Rigorous Target – 0% • Establish baseline – 0% • 0% of districts ( 0 districts) have a significant discrepancy, by race and ethnicity, in the rates of suspensions and expulsions of children with disabilities for greater than 10 days in a school year; and policies, procedures, and practices that contribute to the significant discrepancy and do not comply with requirements relating to the development and implementation of IEPs, the use of positive behavioral interventions and supports, and procedural safeguards

Data – DDRT Submission • DDRT Submissions – # submitted (list per district) • Why did we collect the data? • “At the district and state levels, we would also like to use this information to guide professional development and technical assistance efforts.” • Looking at data state-level to answer: • How does my school referral rate compare to other schools within the district (by grade level if applicable)? • How does my school referral rate compare to other schools within the state? • Do schools experience similar trends in disciplinary referrals throughout the year as my school? • “We hope that the DDRT provides a quick way to gather summary data for use at the team and school-wide levels.”
