Sex and Gender • Sex – biologically determined by reproductive anatomy – male or female • Gender – socially constructed ideas of what it means to be masculine or feminine • Masculine – authoritative, active, powerful, brave, logical, etc • Feminine – passive, nurturing, sensitive, emotional, attractive, etc
