  1. Clothes Shopping at Your Golf Store: What To Wear in Summer Wander around your local golf store, and you’re likely to see lots of clothing options that adhere to the dress code on your course. However, when the weather starts to heat up, it can be more of a challenge to choose an outfit that will not only meet the dress code but also allow you to feel cool and comfortable. So, here we’ll explore some clothing options that will help you enjoy playing in the warmer months. Tops Most courses have a dress code that will not allow t-shirts, so you’ll need some form of collar. However, there is a possible compromise with short sleeve polo shirts, just be sure to ensure that you choose the right material. Cotton can become heavy in warmer weather and start to stick, so try to go for a synthetic blend or moisture wicking cotton that has been treated to absorb less sweat and be quicker drying. Pants Shorts are great in summer, but your course may not allow them. So you’ll need to check the dress code on your local course. If permitted, be sure to choose nice shorts and avoid sporty or cargo shorts. If shorts are not permitted, look of pants that are made from synthetic material that will draw sweat from your skin. There are golf pants, articulated at the knees to avoid bunching. Skirts Even if shorts are not permitted on your course, women have the lucky option of wearing a skirt. This will be much cooler than pants, as you can enjoy airflow. Opt for lighter colours and synthetic materials to help you feel cooler. If you don’t want to swing your club wearing a skirt, try skorts. This looks like a regular skirt from the outside, but it includes shorts underneath. Again, look for moisture wicking materials. Hats In summer, it is vital to wear a hat to provide UV protection. A burnt scalp is not only unattractive, but can be downright painful. A good choice is a wide brimmed hat that will also provide face protection. Like all your other golf clothing, look for moisture wicking fabrics to prevent your head overheating. Rain Gear

  2. Humid weather can also bring some afternoon showers, it’s called the wet season for a reason, so you’ll also need to consider rain gear. Be sure to pack a large umbrella or a lightweight raincoat in your golf bag. Just be sure to head into the clubhouse if it starts to turn stormy, as you won’t want to get caught outside when the thunder and lightning starts. Don’t Forget Colour Finally, don’t forget to consider the colour of your clothing. Light colours are not only season appropriate, but they also absorb and hold less heat to help you feel cooler. You can easily pair up a white shirt and pants with coloured golf shoes or a funky belt to create a nice look. When searching for “golf shops near me,” keep Golf Box in mind.
