Security: • 24x7 on-site TELEHOUSE security personnel • Key card access throughout • Closed circuit television video surveillance – internal & external • Infrared motion detectors • Photo ID required for access to site • 24x7 customer access (access lists) TELEHOUSE Center Security Desk

Loading Dock: • 2 main docks, plus 1 sub-dock • 24x7 customer access, at no cost • Docks – raised; eliminates need for ramps • All work monitored by TELEHOUSE security personnel • Large freight elevator right near loading docks for easy load-in/load-outs TELEHOUSE Center Loading Dock

Customer Assistance Center (CAC): • Control center for all TELEHOUSE sites • 24x7 Communications Technicians and Infrastructure Engineers on duty • All customer data and activities are handled via TIMS (TELEHOUSE Information Management System) • Electric Power Quality and Battery monitors in place TELEHOUSE Center CAC

Meet-Me-Room: • AT&T, Verizon, MCI, Time Warner Telecom and other providers are available to provide service • All circuit installations monitored by TELEHOUSE • Circuits are run from the Meet-Me-Room to customer telecom closets throughout the site TELEHOUSE Center Meet-Me-Room

  10. TELEHOUSE Center • 5. Battery Room: • 4 battery strings for back-up • Capable of handling full center power load for up to 15 minutes • Batteries designed to immediately provide power in case of commercial power loss, until generators start (8-12 seconds) TELEHOUSE Center Battery Room

UPS Room: • 4 rotary UPSs, 600 kVA each, 3 are operational with 1 online stand-by mode, resulting in an N+1 configuration • Even out power source to prevent spikes and brown-outs • In the event of commercial power loss, UPSs will continue to generate power, as their rotary components spin at such a high speed rate. Result: in very short power interruptions the batteries do not have to come online, thereby preserving life span. For longer outages the battery units automatically come online until diesel generators startup TELEHOUSE Center UPS Room

Generator Room: • 4 diesel-powered generators, each at 1,250 kVA, 3 are operational and 1 is online stand-by mode, resulting in N+1 configuration • 48 hours on-site underground fuel supply at maximum load, with multiple vendors on call in emergencies • Crankcase heaters keep each generator warm to avoid cold starts • Generator operation tested monthly, and once per quarter on full power load • Member of NYISO (NY Independent System Operators and NY Power Authority) and affiliated with NERA (North American Electric Reliability Council) TELEHOUSE Center Generator Room

  13. TELEHOUSE Center • 8. Switchgear Room (Commercial Power): • Contains transformers for commercial power. External from main building in a secured area with concrete wall separation • Power feeds from Con Edison (NY) and PSE&G (NJ) tied in with multiple feeds from local Staten Island 800 MW substations • Power distributed to 3 system set-ups: • Critical (customers, emergency, etc.) • Essential (office lighting, A/C, etc.) • Non-essential (corridor outlets, etc.) • If an outage occurs, our systems direct power to Critical and Essential systems first TELEHOUSE Center Switchgear Room

  14. TELEHOUSE Center • 9. Chiller (A/C) Room: • Chillers originally supported high cooling requirement of mainframe data centers. Chillers adaptable to new, water-cooled approach for today’s blade and high performance computing servers • 4 water chillers – N+1 capability • 2-day on-site underground condenser water supply at full load, as backup in the event of water loss by New York City • Fed in a loop by dual city water mains TELEHOUSE Center Chiller Room
