Vocational Training Institute bfi • Owned by the Chambers of Labour and the Austrian Trade Union Federation, the bfi vocational training institute is the largest educational institution for workers in Austria. Bfi activities focus on vocational education and (continuing) training for workers as well as educational and occupational schemes for unemployed persons and workers threatened with unemployment. BFI innovative courses • Persons in employment are offered a large variety of evening and weekend classes covering both vocational and personal subjects, personality development, IT, foreign languages, social and health care occupations, tourism, logistics, technology, business administration, management, etc. Highly committed trainers, innovative adult-centred teaching methods and topical subjects ensure that participants benefit from attending BFI courses. • The BFI adapts its programmes accordingly to include new job clusters.   10. WAFF • The waff Counselling Centre for Career and Further Education offers extensive information, expert advice and financial support for the professional future. It is an one-stop centre offering individualized consultation tailored to individual situation and is free. Mag. Novka Piljic

  12. Training Opportunities for unemployed • AMS - The Public Employment Service is Austria’s leading provider of labour-market related services. AMS matches candidates with job openings and assists jobseekers and companies who turn to AMS by offering advice, information, qualification opportunities and financial assistance. Mag. Novka Piljic

VIENNA 2020 QUALIFICATION PLAN • A new, comprehensive, joint strategy for reducing the percentage of people with a low formal education in Vienna • It is aimed at noticeably reducing the percentage of people in Vienna who have no further education beyond compulsory school by the year 2020. VIENNA 2020 QUALIFICATION PLAN • All stakeholders have joined forces: the City of Vienna, the Vienna Economic Chamber and the Vienna Regional Group of the Federation of Austrian Industries, the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB) and the Vienna Chamber of Labour, the Public Employment Service Vienna, the waff, the Federal Social Welfare Department and the Vienna Board of Education.
