Keeping your money safe • Limit cash holdings, split money between wallets & purses and keep money out of view • Currency cards • Debit cards kept separate and notify your bank of your travel • Credit card as emergency back up card and options as authorised user on your parents credit card account. • Transferwise: www.transferwise.com

  4. Can your bank contact you? • Update your bank with your mobile phone number and email address. • Update you mailing address to your parents/family address whilst you’re away • Family home telephone number added to your records. • Online banking access for yourself overseas on secure access.

  5. Parental access to your accounts whilst you are away. • ‘Third Party Authority’ to allow a parent to have access to your bank account whilst you are away • Could overcome problems on the account without you having to resolve any issues from overseas • Confirm with your bank how this can be established - normally both you and a parent call at branch with Identification (debit card, passport and proof of address) and establish authority within a matter of days.

  6. Your account details left with your family • In case you need money paid into your account whilst you are away simply leave securely with your family your Sort Code and Bank Account number. • Your latest bank statement will normally give all these details.

  7. Emergency contacts for your bank. • Keep contact details for you bank separate from your bank cards in case you lose one of them. • Please check with your own bank.
