Conservation of root vole *Microtus oeconomus mehelyi LIFE08 NAT/SK/00239

This project aims to coordinate the conservation efforts for the critically endangered root vole Microtus oeconomus mehelyi, an endemic glacial relict subspecies that inhabits wetlands in Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria. With the collaboration of various beneficiaries, the project seeks to protect this species and its preferred habitats through national legislation, international conventions, and conservation efforts.
