  3. Phase 1 - Sites • Choice of 3 from 6 Field Force Areas • Battersea • Tunbridge Wells • Colchester • Coventry • Exeter • Edinburgh

Phase 2 - End User Technical Trial • Entry to Phase 2 from Phase 1 Operators • 10 to 20 loops per co-location (300 loops max) • Maximum manual provision rate ~ 5 lines per day • BT to test spectrum management compliance • No take-over, no number portability • Provision of loops will be by manual procedures - not to standard lead times • Maintenance not to normal standards

Phase 3 - Automation Trial (1) • Entry to Phase 3 from Phase 2 Operators • From 17/4/2001 onwards, testing of the automatic OSS interface between Operators and BT • Initially 1, then 2, to a max of 3 operators per week • All triallists connected to gateway by 25 May 2001 • Migration of Phase 2 loops onto OSS

  6. Phase 3 - Automation Trial (2) • Bedding down period in June 2001, no further operators connected before 1 July 2001 • Triallists can increase orders - up to 150 per Operator • 2100 loops maximum by end of Phase 3 Trial • Take-over and number portability available for test • Loops continue to be provided and maintained on trial terms & conditions until formal launch

Critical System Constraints • COSMOSS modifications for tracking co-location build, tie cables and backhaul - available July 2000 • CSS and other systems for pair provision & maintenance - available end March 2001 • Gateway to Operators and OSS , available for start of phase 3 trial -17 April 2001
