  2. Viskozluk katsayısının birimi (SI) N s / m2 (CGS) dyn s / cm2 Viskozluk katsayısı akışkanın akışa karşı direngenliğinin bir ölçüsüdür. Tersine akıcılık denir (1/η) Viskozluk tayini için geliştirilmiş sistemlere Viskozimetre denir. Tüm sıvılarda viskozluk katsayısı sıcaklığa önemli ölçüde bağlıdır. Örneğin ; Kanın viskozluk katsayı 0-37 °C arasında 2,5 kat değişmektedir.
