UNIVERSITY OF ARTS IN BELGRADE consists of four Faculty: Faculty of MusicArts ( 1937 ) Faculty of Fine Arts (1937 ) Faculty of Dramatic Arts (1948 ) Faculty of Applied Arts (1948 ) and Interdisciplinary postgraduate studies. There are all levels of studies at the University and more than 50 training profiles in 36 different departments or groups. There are around 2000 student and 400 instructors

EXISTING CURRICULUM STRUCTURE • two-cycle degree system – Diploma ( 5 ) and Magister ( 2 ) • study programs with courses as one-year modules • without of elected courses • lectures and exercises - 30 ours per week • practical work and student’s independent work– 10 ours per week • without planning whole students worload ( preparation of examination, work on diploma thesis etc. )

NEW CURRICULUM STRUCTURE The University of Arts in Belgrade has defined the curricula for the new study programs which encompass: • three-cycle degree system -Bachelor/Master (3+2 or 4+1)and Phd (3) • study programs with courses as one-semester modules • introduction of elected courses • allocation of ECTS( 1 ECTS = 30 working ours ) • defining the curricula of one-semester courses according to new study programs

AGREED VALUE OF ECTS CREDITS • 1 week≈40 student’s working hours(8 hours x 5 days = 40) • Duration of semester≈22,5 weeks(teaching+examination period+holidays) • Total number of hours per year(total workload of the student): 2 x 22,5 x 40 = 1800 working hours per year • 1 year( 2 semesters ) = 60 ECTS ( convention ) 60 60 x = 30 = 1800 x 1 ECTS = 30 hours

  17. Thus defined new study programs have been passed at: • THE FACULTY OF MUSIC ART ( FMA ) The curricula were passed at the FoM Staff Meeting on February 8 and 14, 2006. They were later passed at the Senate of University of Arts on July 20, 2006. • 25study programs for Bch/Ma studies with 4+1 division were developed, as well as one Master and one Specialized program for chamber music • the first generation of students studying the new curriculum entered FMA in academic year 2006/07

  18. Thus defined new study programs have been passed at: • THE FACULTY OF FINE ART ( FAA ) The curricula were passed at the FFA Staff Meeting on May 17, 26 and 31, 2006. They were later passed at the Senate of University of Arts on September 28, 2006 • 3study programs for Bch/Ma studies with 3+2 division were developed, as well as programs for specialized studies • the first generation of students studying the new curriculum entered FAA in academic year 2006/07

Thus defined new study programs have been passed at: THE FACULTY OF DRAMATIC ARTS( FDA ) • The curricula were passed at the FDA Staff Meeting on March 14, 2007. • They were later passed at the Senate of University of Arts on april, 5, 2007. • 4study programs for Bch/Ma studies with 3+2 division were developed (Film and TV Directing, Film and TV Production, Camera, Editing) • 5study programs for Bch/Ma studies with 4+1 division were developed (Dramaturgy, Theater and Radio Directing, Acting, Recording and Sound Design, Management in Theatre, Radio and Culture) • the first generation of students studying the new curricula will enter FDA in academic year 2007/08

  20. Thus defined new study programs have been passed at: THE FACULTY OF APPLIED ARTS ( FAA ) • The curricula were passed at the FAA Staff Meeting in July, 2006. They are still being modified and have not yet passed at the Senate of University of Arts. • 15 study programs for Bch/Ma studies with 4+1 division were developed • the first generation of students studying the new curricula is likely to enter FAA in academic year 2007/08

Thus defined new study programs have been passed at: UNIVERSITY OF ARTS INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES • New study programs for the groups of Management in Culture and Media, Theory of Arts and Media, and Stage Design were passed at the Senate of University of Artson July 20, 2006 and curricula of the Digital Arts Group on September 28. • the first generation of students studying the new, pilot curricula entered in academic year 2006/07
