  2. London, the bustling and beautiful capital of England, is home to iconic buildings, lush central parks, fine dining, and mouth-watering street foods. A city rich with history and style, London comes alive during the wintry months.  Here, you can visit the places that inspired J.K. Rowling’s magical world--the Harry Potter Universe. While you breathe the cold air of December, enjoy London’s colorful city lights from the best vantages in England: Sky Garden, Primrose Hill, and Hampstead Heath.  There are many things to do in London in fact one day trip is not enough to watch all the attractions in London. Make Memories in London this Winter: Visit Glamorous Tourist Spots  1) Little Venice  Naming an area “Little Venice” is a quick way to wear your skeptical British hat and dismiss this marketing naming as nonsense. But “Little Venice” indeed does stay true to its name.  To the locals and repeat visitors, this miniature version of Italy’s capital city showcases cute cafes and colorful houseboats. Even during the winter months, you can savor fresh seafood dishes, like Honey Garlic Butter Shrimp and Jellied Eels, at The Summerhouse.  By taking a boat trip here, you can easily access Camden Town and ZSL London Zoo. The zoo is home to over 20,000 animals, which includes rare Asiatic Lions and feisty emperor penguins.   4. During the first and last quarter of the year, Little Venice boasts independent theatre that you can only find in London.   5. 2) Hampstead Heath Hampstead Heath deserves one whole article to describe everything it has to offer. Located four miles from Trafalgar Square, “The Heath” offers the highest points in the city.  A place where artists offer their works and music on the streets, Hampstead Heath is an art in itself. Here, you can walk on cobblestone streets lined with 18th century-styled lamps that illuminate London’s nightlife.  Upon exiting Hampstead tube station, you’ll be immediately welcomed with this quaint English neighborhood vibe. Wandering around its numerous streets, passageways, and alleys, you can spend a good hour or two just meandering and taking everything in.  Along the way, you’ll enjoy the sight of houses that depict London’s rich architectural heritage. House and Garden feature modernist houses on the edge of the Heath. Morris’ retirement home is a sight to see too, as it’s clad with reddish modulated bricks. 

  6.   Kenwood House, which is locally known as Iveagh Bequest, is set in Stucco with a centered portico. Robert Adam constructed the mansion’s south front gate from a single Stucco block. Robert was a Scottish architect who transformed many of England’s Palladian Neoclassical mansions into light elegant Adam-styled manors.    Walking through Hampstead Heath, you’ll feel like you’re not in a city. Once the greenery surrounds you, it’s easy to forget that there are 8 million people beyond the trees.    A trip to Hampstead isn’t completed without reaching the summit from Parliament Hill. Here, you can see the entirety of London through a wide-angle view.   7. 3) The Buckingham Palace   See the lives of royalties through your own eyes and marvel at the historical pieces made by renowned artists by visiting Buckingham palace.    Among all the landmarks in London, Buckingham palace serves as the symbol of royalty. Located in Westminster, which is the financial center of London, the palace is a popular tourist spot and the office of Queen Elizabeth II.    Many think that her majesty lives in Buckingham Palace, but she prefers Windsor Castle as her home.  If the Queen’s insignia is flying over the Palace, then the Queen is there.  Inside, 775 lavishly decorated staterooms await fans and tourists. During the    Christmas holidays, the interior gets a festive makeover, with lush garlands, twinkling lights, and well-decorated Nordmann fir trees. It’s a treat to see. 

  8.   The season transforms the palace into a real-life winter wonderland--with a distinct royal flair.   The historical artworks from well-known artists and sculptors, like Canova, Rubens, Vermeer, and Van Dyck, hang on the walls for guests and tourists to see. Among the Royal Collection, Guido Reni’s Cleopatra with the Asp and Titian’s Bacchus and Ariadne are the most famous.     Value tickets allow tourists to experience a complete visit to the palace.   9. 4) Hyde Park     Embrace the holiday spirit with Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland.     This merry family event is only available during the Christmas season. It offers numerous festive entertainments and fun activities, from circus shows to live bands. The Christmas market and souvenir booths have enough things to keep shoppers occupied all day round.  Located in the heart of London, Hyde Park is a carnival surrounded by trees. In the evening, the stalls and fun rides transform into colorful structures emitting beautiful lights.     On Parliament Hill, the park is like a magical land. Here, you can ice skate to live music, on United Kingdom’s largest outdoor rink.    The circus show, with its splendid performers and breathtaking acrobats, will wow you. On the Giant Observation Wheel, you can soar to the sky. 

  10.   When you enter their Magical Ice Kingdom, you’ll be transported to a fantasy palace with sorcerers and forest glades.  Once you had enough fun, sit down and absorb the scenic views of the park or you can head over to the Christmas market.
