Breaking News • The new picture of current members in MWWP was taken. • Nevertheless, this event created a controversy on how to take it for there was none to do so. • There was a debate whether a “selfie” or timer adjustment. The preliminary event of taking a “selfie” lead to a debate upon who had the longer arms. • Theories were developed and they all agreed AJ Rivera’s arms were the longest. • However the timer in the camera worked perfectly and the picture was taken successfully.

Keep Up with the Events • As a result the group crashed Twitter avoiding them to create their accounts. • On the other hand, Weebly and Google+ were created. • MWWP is still trying to get used to these different communication media, but affirmed they will keep on practicing because they already have their ID for comments: • #mwwp2014 • A huge effort was made to create different accounts in the internet with the guidance of YamilSarraga. • Accounts as:

Keep Up with the Events • Elenita Irizarry’s DEMO • Young instructor Irizarry offered her demo. • It was focused on Science; to be more specific the structure of a cell. • During the demo the rest of participants created their own cell and constructed one with different and “cool” materials; • Play doh • Globes • Bowls • Rare substance for plants. • They all looked like children. • The most important part was the integration of writing skills in a Science lab.

How could teachers reach their students facing the individualism and proud struggle among them. • Distribution of power • Teacher and student should both have a voice • “We can’t be afraid of making mistakes” More News • Book Talk • William Rodriguez’s conference was a target for a debate. • It brought topics such as • Xenophobia • Nationalism • Isolation • Revolution of values • Teaching against white supremacy

News of the Day Books by Nancy • A campaign along with workshops on banned books is rising in UPRM where Nancy Vicente teases the community into the acceptance of controversial material. • Should picture books about such topics as gender roles and sex education be appropriate for children? • What role do illustrations play in mediating difficult topics for children? • Why teach with gender role and sex illustration books? • Why teach about different types of family?
