  3. WHAT DO WE DO? • Provide safety outreach to the community. • Provide education in the schools. • Provide necessary equipment to keep the community safe from accidental injury.

  5. FIRE KILLS FIRE KILLS Every 139 minutes a civilian DIES in a fire Every 34 minutes a civilian is INJURED in a fire

  6. HOW DO WE PROTECT OURSELVES AND OUR NEIGHBORS? • Properly working smoke alarms • In home fire escape plans • Practice! Practice! Practice!

  7. CHM SMOKE ALARM PROGRAM • Install one working smoke alarm on each level of the home to include the sleeping areas. • Install one CO detector per home • In home fire/burn safety education

  8. WHAT CAN YOU DO? • Currently work with 2 Healthy Homes Iniatives • Identify homes in need • Install smoke alarms/CO detectors • Educate Families

  9. TRAINING • Provided FREE of charge to any group wishing to install smoke alarms and educate residents on smoke alarm use, care and cleaning as well as in home education on fire/burn safety.
