  1. Welcome to Gulf Coast DI! On Feb 29, 2020 you are invited to the largest regional celebration of creativity, innovation and teamwork in Texas!

  3. Step 1 – Form a team • Follow your school district’s rules for team formation • Get a background check – all team managers must have a background check performed. Please contact your district rep to see if your district will provide this service. If not, please contact your regional director. • 2) Make sure your team’s formation adheres to the rules of team formation in the rules of the road document

Step 2 – Pick a challenge • 1) Have your team decide which challenge they want to participate in. • This is the first test of team chemistry and a good starting point for teaching teamwork. • Please try to decide on a challenge early as we need solid numbers before the end of the year to plan the tournament.

  6. Step 3 – Get your team number • 1) Each team that participates must have a valid team number. • If you are an independent team, you will need to purchase your team number from www.shopdi.org • If you are participating through a school district, please check with your school sponsor/district DI coordinator for your team number

  7. Step 4 – Register your team • 1) Create an account on www.texasdi.org if you don’t have one. • Review the instructions for registering your team on www.gulfcoastdi.com/team-registration.html • Please register early, you can still edit your information until the registration deadline on Jan 10, 2020.

Ongoing • Practice with your team • Attend team manager training sessions ( check schedule on www.gulfcoastdi.com ) • Regularly check for clarifications on www.idodi.org for your challenge. • Regularly check the www.gulfcoastdi.com website for tournament information • Watch for email communications from your regional director and district rep Monday

Important Dates • 10/31/19 – Last day to register with Katy, Fort Bend and Cy-Fair ISD • 11/30/19 – Early bird discount deadline ( independent teams only ) • 12/7/19 – Team Workshop – Salyards Middle School - 8 am – 12 pm • 1/10/20 - Gulf Coast registration deadline • 2/29/20 - Gulf Coast regional tournament – Dulles High School • 4/3 – 4/4/20 – Texas affiliate tournament – Corpus Christi • 5/18 – 5/24/20 – Global Finals – Kansas City
