Project background Aim: to pilot E-skills Passport and ITQ pack at level 2 for teaching and support staff in ACL services Partners: NIACE, LSDA and E-Skills UK Timescale: January-October 2005 Funding: £2,500 each project Free E-skills Passport licences Mentor support for each project Training pack and CD Rom level 2 Briefing event

  6. Assessment Each project had in-house trainer In-house NVQ assessor with D32/33 (A1, A2) External assessor from Pilot College with D34 (V1) External assessor from WBL E-portfolio

What didn’t work planning the teaching content in advance rather than responsively starting assessment/portfolios too late not having enough time to support individually not being able to arrange group meetings being unclear about assessment process at beginning not having clear pack of paperwork for participants

  9. What was good about it suitable for managers as well as tutors being work related being flexible learning new skills immediately applicable in work, improving efficiency

  10. What helped it work significant management buy-in assessor knowing about all the job roles involved Blend of face to face and e-learning approaches   group induction sessions
