  14. MAMMOGRAPHY In America, most breast cancers are diagnosed on mammogram • 1st mammogram age 35 • Or 10 years before your mother was diagnosed with breast cancer • Yearly starting age 40 • About 10% of cancers are not seen on mammogram. DO YOUR OWN EXAM

  26. Genetics • BRCA 1 and 2 • Alterations or mutations in these genes increase ones risk for breast and ovarian cancer • Only about 5% of breast cancer patients are BRCA +
