  5. SFA GUI • Goal: PlanetLab Clearinghouse Web GUI • PlanetLab users can easily access GENI resources • Milestone: desktop GUI • SFA-GUI: demo at GEC8, uses pyjamas-desktop • Sface: GUI prototype from OneLab, uses PyQt • Developer momentum behind Sface • Set slice attributes • Support multiple aggregates • Support virtual topologies (i.e., VINI) GENI Engineering Conference 9, Washington DC

  6. New project: VICCI • NSF-funded effort to support research on next-generation Clouds • 1000 cores, OpenFlow switch • 4 US sites, 2 EU sites, Japan • Phase 0: MyPLC, PlanetLab node software • Federate, enable access via GENI AM API • Create incentives to grow VICCI • Not an “open” infrastructure • Develop VICCI federation policies GENI Engineering Conference 9, Washington DC

  7. GEC9 Milestones • Support GENI AM API on PLC, PLE, VINI • Two prototypes of desktop SFA GUI • Interoperability with ProtoGENI • Report on experiences with Federation GENI Engineering Conference 9, Washington DC

  8. GEC10 Milestones • Support the GENI AM API on VICCI • Mature desktop GUI for Cluster B aggregates • Prototype of PlanetLab Clearinghouse via PLC Web site • Enforce initial VICCI federation policy rules • Report on possible Shibboleth integration GENI Engineering Conference 9, Washington DC

  9. GEC11 Milestones • Desktop GUI supports non-PlanetLab aggregates, has devel community • PlanetLab Clearinghouse live on PLC Web site • Enforce mature set of VICCI federation policies • Report on VICCI federation and resource allocation policies GENI Engineering Conference 9, Washington DC
