We must take corrective measure to ensure security over the internet as many things are dependent on it. Once your Wi-Fi access is compromised, you may face big troubles. Hackers may steal important information and can use them for their own benefits. Unlike physical networks, Wi-Fi systems can even extend beyond the walls of your home. Once hackers are aware of the password, it becomes very difficult for you to get hold of your Wi-Fi network again as they may modify or steal important documents, gain access to security codes or banking information. You can set up home internet filters to protect yourself and your family from cyber threats. Here are some simple changes that you can make to best secure Wi-Fi routers and secure your home networks from hackers: 1.Make a complicated router password It is always recommended to have a long and complicated password rather than having a simple one. You may use random sequences of letters, special characters, number and a combination of upper and lower case letter so that it becomes hard for hackers to crack it. 2.Change the router’s default admin credentials Many routers come along with the default admin credentials which are mentioned on their manual. Each network is identified by a name known as SSID. It is always recommended to change the SSID from the default one to get a more secured connection. 4.Strengthen Wi-Fi encryption A weak Wi-Fi encryption means problem everywhere. It is not only recommended to have best secure Wi-Fi routers but also the type of encryption they support. You can change the Wi-Fi encryption in the router console. Once you have set up a high Wi-Fi encryption, it becomes difficult for the hackers to crack it. There are numerous tips to secure your network but people often forget to update these basic ones. They play an important role in safe guarding your network. Having the home internet filters active not only keeps scammers at bay but also ensures that your kids do not access content that is not meant for them. So think wisely, and select the best!
