8. Transportation ? Especially after the launch of the metro, Dubai's public transport system is probably the best in the Middle East Boat: An easier way of crossing the Dubai Creek is by abra, essentially a small ferry. Abra stations are located along the Creek on both the Bur Dubai and Deira sides, and the system of filling the boats is remarkably efficient. The cross-river trip costs 1 Dirham (AED 1) per passenger, payable to the driver after the boat has left the station, and affords a very picturesque view of the city (not to be missed). Abras set off very regularly, and the service is available round-the-clock. By bus Dubai Public transport [16] is a cheaper means of traveling within the several districts in Dubai. A map of the bus system can be found online[17], as well as detailed route maps and timetables [18]. Public buses are clean and cheap, but unfortunately not very comprehensive and (on some routes) quite infrequent. The bus system is most useful for getting between different areas of central Dubai, or between the various suburbs, rather than general transport. Taxis or a fair amount of walking will also be required if you wish to visit Dubai without a car of your own. • The Dubai Metro (in Arabic: مترو دبي)is a driverless, fully automatedmetro network in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai. The Red LineandGreen Line are operational, with three further lines are planned. These first two lines run underground in the city centre and on elevated viaductselsewhere (Elevated railway).[2] All trains and stations are air conditioned with platform edge doors to make this possible. • The first section of the Red Line, covering 10 stations, was ceremonially inaugurated at 9:09:09 PM on September 9, 2009, by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,[3] with the line opening to the public at 6 AM on September 10.[4] The Dubai Metro is the first urban train network in the Arabian Peninsula.[5] More than 110,000 people, which is nearly 10 per cent of Dubai’s population, used the Metro in its first two days of operation.[6] The Dubai Metro carried 10 million passengers from launch on 9 September 2009 to 9 February 2010 with 11 stations operational on the Red Line.[7] • At 75 km, the Dubai Metro is frequently cited as the world's longest fully automated metro network.

9. New york Beautiful weather in spring, less humidity and cold breezes. Top of the Rock - Rockefeller puts the Empire State Building to shame. There's a lighted show on the ceiling of the elevator as you go up and down. The place is more spacious, clean and there's different levels you can walk on. Plus you can get a nice view of the Empire State Building, the Rock is incased in plexiglass, so you can get a pic with the empire state building next to or behind you. The cafe at Rockefeller, right next to the ice skating rink has great food and is reasonable. • New York CityPass: Get the New York CityPASS, the best deal in the Big Apple. Your New York CityPASS saves you time and money as you skip long ticket queues for entry to six of New York's premier attractions. • Radio City Music Hall is a great place to see at night, when it's lit up - its beautiful. The Cirque du Soleil Zarkana show will be showing this summer. It looks phenomenal and tickets are reasonable. Times Square, you must see a show. TKTS booth in times square will give you a chance to score great seats for a great price to an great show. There's Hershey and M&M world. Lots of touristy stuff , there's the Discovery Times Square Building with the New Cake Boss Cafe and the Harry Potter Exhibit.

10. Restaurants Casablanca Hotel Times Square Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park: The only AAA Five Diamond resort in Manhattan, the Ritz-Carlton offers guests seeking luxury accommodations attentive service and world-class comforts. There are group tours available, as well as free tours for individuals on Wednesdays and Fridays Ellis Island Immigration Museum The Ellis Island Immigration Museum offers visitors a fascinating look into the immigrant experience. Interactive exhibits, walking tours and movies reveal the hardships and challenges faced by immigrants passing through Ellis Island. American Museum of Natural History Since opening to the public in 1869, the American Museum of Natural History has evolved and grown. In addition to the Rose Center planetarium and regular exhibits, the American Museum of Natural History hosts a revolving series of new exhibits, so there is always something new to see. 13. Attractions AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY: This world-famous museum is comprised of several different Halls, each dedicated to a particular theme. The museum's exhibition-halls house a stunning array of artifacts and specimens from all corners of the world and all historical periods. These illuminate the natural history of our planet and its myriad species, and bring the world's cultures to life.  MUSEUM FOR AFRICAN ART The Museum for African Art is dedicated to increasing public understanding and appreciation of African art and culture. Transportation in New York City The transportation system of New York City is a cooperation of complex systems of infrastructure. New York City, being the largest city in the United States, has a transportation system which includes the largest subway system in the world, measured by track mileage; the world's first mechanically ventilated vehicular tunnel, and an aerial tramway. Service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and takes approximately 25 minutes each way. • Buses: • New York City's bus network is extensive, with over 5,900 buses carrying about 2.01 million passengers every day on more than 200 local routes and 30 express routes.[26] Buses owned by MTA account for 80% of the city's surface mass transit.[5] New York City has the largest clean-air diesel-hybrid and compressed natural gas bus fleet in the United State

15. So, Dubai? Or New York?  Definitely. If you're looking for fun, especially with kids, Dubai is great. Wild Wadi water park, Ski Dubai at Mall of the Emirates are typical attractions.  If you're looking for local attractions, you can go dune-bashing in a dune-buggy, camel-riding and sand-surfing. You can get a photograph with a falcon, you can buy gold-jewelery, you can go to some of the finest beaches in the world in Dubai. If you're living in a good hotel, you'll receive top-class hospitality. • Personally, I think Dubai is better from the tourism side, as well as more entertaining. More comfortable for family members, and children as well. Dubai is one of the safest destinations in the Middle East, in fact, you'll feel right at home while you're there. It's as cosmopolitan as any western city. In fact, in some aspects it is more modern.
