SBIRT Colorado, administered by the Colorado Division of Behavioral Health and managed by Peer Assistance Services, Inc. began in 2006 with federal grant assistance from SAHMSA. Through the initiative's efforts, screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment has been implemented in healthcare and community-based organizations statewide. 120,000 Coloradans screened to date.
