  3. BORN IN 6 B.C Birth Place: Israel, Bethlehem Parents: Mary and Joseph

ABOUT JESUS • He was a Jew but also known as a roman citizen • He was raised in Nazareth • Age 30 began his own teachings and ministry • Preached from town to town and some started to call him the messiah • During his lifetime, Jesus performed many miracles and spoke to many people about his father in heaven.

  5. He was followed by 12 disciples • Peter • Andrew • James • John • Philip • Bartholomew • Thomas • Matthew • James • Thaddaeus • Simon the Zealot • Judas Iscariot • Matthias

  6. Growing Popularity of teachings caused problems in Jerusalem among Jewish top priest

  7. Roman governor- Pontius pilot believed Jesus and followers challenged the authority of Rome

  8. Jesus was arrested and sentenced to death

  9. Jesus was beaten by the roman soldiers After he had to carry the crossbeam along public roads to the place of execution.

  12. 3 days later his body was gone from the tomb Some believe his body was resurrected and went to heaven

  13. Apostle Paul spread the teachings of Christianity throughout the roman empire having never met Jesus

  14. The Jews and Christians refused to worship the roman gods

  15. The ones who chose to do so were persecuted, crucified, burned, enslaved, or sent to the Colosseum

CHRISTIANITY Following his death, Christians believe that he rose from the grave and returned to the earth, appearing to his followers and telling them of the kingdom of God to which he was going. He also promised his disciples that he would return one day to bring all believers with him to that kingdom, to enjoy eternal life in the presence of God.

  17. Bible Bible is the final revelations of God. The bible consists of The Old Testament (books written prior to Jesus) and The New Testament (books relate and life of Jesus). Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) Trinity consists of three persons. Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are considered to be an essence of the God God Christians believe that there is only one God

  18. Death and Resurrection of Jesus Jesus was crucified on the cross. Christians believe that Jesus died for the sins of people. He was resurrected the following Sunday. 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again." (Luke 24:7)

  19. Return of Jesus Bible also proclaims that the Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead. Matthew (24:30) says , “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.”

  20. Those who believe unbelievers Salvation and Punishment Christians believe in the life after death. Those who believe in Jesus will be forgiven and saved, where as, the unbelievers would face eternal punishment.
