Choosing Card Equipment Payment Processing When merchants accept electronic payments, they need card equipment to enable the processing.  Without the necessary card equipment all credit card processing would need to be manual entry via a computer website.  This often results in much higher fees, so choosing this method is not the best.

Basically, a virtual terminal replaces the hardware used in most physical point of sale settings. The terminal exists online, so it is possible to use any computer in order to access such a terminal.
