Inglés Instrumental I HORARIO DE CLASES Y TUTORÍAS 1) Clases teórico-prácticas: Miércoles de 11 a 13 horas (aula 22) 2) Prácticas de laboratorio: GRUPO 1: Jueves de 11 a 13 horas GRUPO 2: Jueves de 13 a 15 horas GRUPO 3: Jueves de 15:30 a 17:30 horas Cada mes rotará el horario de los grupos 3)Tutorías: Miércoles de 13 a 15 horas

Inglés Instrumental I OBJETIVOS DE LA ASIGNATURA Que el alumno adquiera los contenidos de nivel B1 del MCERL en las siguientes destrezas: • Listening: Mejorar la comprensión oral del alumno mediante la realización de tests semanales en el laboratorio de idiomas • Reading: Mejorar la comprensión escrita del alumno a través de textos sobre la cultura y actualidad inglesa. • Speaking: Mejorar la expresión y pronunciación oral del alumno a través de role-plays, conversaciones, entrevistas, presentaciones orales. • Use of English: Adecuar la precisión sintáctica y gramatical del alumno al nivel de esta asignatura. • Writing: Mejorar la expresión escrita del alumno a través de trabajos controlados y trabajos autónomos.

How do you feel?: Expressing likes/dislikes, Describing feelings, Exchanging Personal Information, Question forms, Questions Tags, Word & sentence stress, Reading/writing: Informal letters . • 2. We haven’t got time: Giving advice, habits, Showing concern, Use of Modal Verbs, Be able to, supposed to, Present Continuous/Present Simple, Weak form & Intonation, Reading/writing notices, personal messages, postcards & greeting cards. • 3. The tourist trade:Recent Events and life experiences, Describing unfinished activities in the past, Present Perfect Simple & Present Perfect Continuous, Use of Suffixes (nouns & adjectives), -ing/ed Adjectives, Prepositions of time & place, Adverbs of frequency, Phrasal verbs, the schwa in words & consonant-vowel links, Reading/writing: Formal letters. • 4. Born to be wild: Talking of the past, Past Simple & Past Continuous, Past Perfect, Describing behaviour, Difference between /d/, /t/ and /id/ in regular past tenses, Reading/Writing: Past narratives & book reviews. • 5. Home truths: Making Comparisons (comparatives & superlatives), Predicting of the future, Talking about Future Plans, the Future with “will”, “going to” & Present Continuous, Phrasal verbs, /h/ at the beginning of words, Reading: Scanning texts, Writing emails.

Decisions and choices:Making conditioned decisions, Giving opinions, Expressing preferences and choices, “zero” & 1st Conditional, Modal verbs, Make/do, Reflexive pronouns, Difference between /I/ /& /i:/, Reading/Writing: Opinions. • 7. Technology: Making Hypotheses, Expressing (in)ability (able to, manage, be good at), Indirect & direct questions, 2nd conditionals, Use of articles (a, an, the, no article), Intonation: Being polite language, Reading/Writing: Giving instructions. • 8. One world: Warnings and Advice, Describing processes, Talking about the weather, The Passive, Quantifiers, Prefixes/suffixes, /s/ & /z/ in plural nouns, Reading/Writing: Language of advertising & Letters of complaint. • 9. Look after yourself!: Health and Fitness, Expressing concerns & sympathy, Understanding role-plays, Relative clauses, Present Perfect simple (active & passive), too/enough, /ae/, /e/ & /Λ/, Reading/Writing: Job advertisements & job applications. METODOLOGÍA • La metodología se basará primordialmente en un enfoque comunicativo en el que la participación del alumno es fundamental. • En las clases teóricas (miércoles), se enseñarán técnicas de escritura y lectura, uso básico de las estructuras gramaticales, adquisición de vocabulario sobre temas cotidianos y resolución de ejercicios gramaticales. • En las clases prácticas (jueves), se enfatizarán las destrezas de speaking y listening: describir experiencias, contar historias, transmitir lo leído, utilizar vocabulario y expresiones aprendidos en las clases teóricas, etc. • Actividades formativas no presenciales: Actividades de intercambio con los americanos. • Actividades formativas de las tutorías: Presentaciones orales en grupos de los trabajos autónomos y resolución de dudas. • La asistencia a clase es OBLIGATORIA.   7. LINGUISTIC EXCHANGES • 6th October: Welcome Lunch from 1:30pm onwards in the “patio” next to the cafeteria. Spanish students will bring typical Spanish food and American ones, American food. • 27th October: Halloween Party: Pumpkin-carving and disguise quiz in small groups of American and Spanish students from 1:30pm onwards in the “patio” next to the cafeteria. • 10th November: Board games: Different games such as scrabble or pictionary to play in small groups in rooms 4B and 10 from 1:30 to 3pm. • 1st December: Xmas party and Secret Santa preparation in room 22 from 1 to 3 pm. • 9th December: Xmas party in the cafeteria from 6pm onwards. • 18th January: Welcome lunch (Spanish students will bring some food and Americans, some drinks and munchies) and later tour around the cityin groups of 5 or 6 students from 1:30 to 6:00pm.   8. Inglés Instrumental I • Have a coffee! • 20th October: Deadline for the first report. • 3rd November: Deadline for the second report. • 17th November: Deadline for the third report. • 24th November: Deadline for the fourth report.

  9. Inglés Instrumental I CONSEJOS • El curso es muy corto, cualquier distracción es fatal. • No faltéis a clase – eso supone hacer el trabajo previo en casa, claro. No os asegura la superación de la asignatura, pero al menos os asegura que tenéis los puntos de asistencia. • En clase no seáis muebles, participad. Es la única forma de perder la vergüenza. Además en este curso se premia la participación. • Si pensáis que necesitáis ayuda, no esperéis más, buscadla – en enero es ya demasiado tarde. • Mantened unas mínimas normas de convivencia en clase.

Inglés instrumental I 40% 20% 20% 20% 10% Sistema de evaluación • Examen final teórico-práctico sobre reading, writing y use of English. • Examen oral al final del cuatrimestre. • Evaluación continua de listening mediante tests. • Realización y presentación de trabajos autónomos. • Asistencia y participación en clase.
