  1. Climate Change Finance Facility (CCFF) Call for proposals:"Use of Renewable Energy Resources in the Household Sector (1st round)“(from 28 January - 24 March, 2011)

Use of Renewable Energy Resources in Household Sector The objective of the call was the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the household sector by means of supporting purchase and installation of micro generation technological equipment for production of thermal energy or generation of electricity (hereinafter - equipment) in residential houses for the purpose of production of thermal energy or generation of electricity from renewable energy resources and providing heat or electricity supply exclusively for household needs.

  3. Financing: The financing of the financial instrument available within the framework of the Call (hereinafter - financing) was 11 399 481 Lats (about 16 284 972EUR) Within the framework of the call the maximally permissible support intensity of the financial instrument could not exceed 50% from the total eligible costs of a project.  Within the framework of the call the maximum amount of resources of the financial instrument available for one project application was 7000 Lats(10 000EUR).

  4. The technological equipment supported by the Call: chip boilers - straw boilers - biomass pellet boilers - with a total installed wood boilers- capacity to biomass fireplaces- 50 kW inclusive.

  10. The eligible costs of the projects: 1.Cost of equipment producing renewable energy: purchasing, installing, connecting and tuning; 2. Installation costs of the control system; 3.Work costs directly related to thesupported activities (For example: construction costs of the wind base, work costs of installation of heat pumps, including drilling costs).

  11. ZREA activity: Written and approved 38 project applications (attracted funding from Climate Change Finance Facility about 100 000Lats – about 142 000 EUR); Attracted several companies that supplied and installed equipment.
