Witnesses say they had too much bootlegged giggle-water. In other news… Those of you looking to have the cat’s pajamas of a weekend have much to look forward to. Barnstormers are performing in Culver City, there’s a new audie playing at the cinema, and there will be a parade on the main drag, sure to be full of sheiks and ritzy women. It should all be darb! And finally… If you can get away from your governor, breeze in to the Dance marathon. Hundreds will be hoofing to the best jazz in town. It should be the bee’s knees!

  9. Assignment: You are to work either individually or in pairs to create a radio story using at least 15 words on the handout (and making sense). Please choose at least two topics to broadcast; there are many topics from the 1920s to choose from… 1. Prohibition (speakeasies, bootleggers, and gangsters) 2. Popular Culture Heroes (Lindbergh, Earhart) 4. Entertainment (movies, composers, artists, writers, fads)
