Calculator • What is the college calculator? • It is a future estimate of college costs based on personal preferences and practices. • It has an added feature that allows you to compare the cost of several colleges. • It allows you to see how starting now, doing your best in school, and following a plan can decrease your college costs www.osfa.la.gov

  17. 2. Calculator • The estimate given assumes annual tuition increases that reflects cost of living increases. • The estimate given is a total cost of attendance estimate, not simply tuition. • Knowledge to plan is rewarded with power to succeed. www.osfa.la.gov

Tool Kit: Tools • “Money Know-How” links to sites designed to increase your financial intelligence. • “Cash For College” can be used to educate you on both federal and state aid programs, including TOPS. It also links to safe scholarship search engines. • “It Pays To Save” links to sites that teach about saving for college and saving for college plans. It also provides a list of resource materials to read. • “Find Federal Aid” teaches about all types of federal aid programs, aid for internationals, and filing the FAFSA. www.osfa.la.gov

Tool Kit: Tools • “College Price Tags” is designed to show you what colleges cost today, what they may cost you in the future, and how the money is broken down. • “Plan Your Work & Work Your Plan” gives information on planning for postsecondary success.
