  1. C.A.S.T. Collaborative Academic Support Team

  2. What is C.A.S.T? • A systematic and intentional way to ensure that we are meeting the needs of every Blakely student.

  3. Who is on the C.A.S.T team? • Multi-disciplinary team: principal, 2 classroom teachers/data lead teachers, school psychologist, OT, SLP, SpEd teacher, Title 1 reading/math teacher, ELL teacher and Indian Ed Coordinator, when applicable.

  4. The specifics: • Classroom teachers will be released by a roving substitute to come and meet with the C.A.S.T. team for 75 minutes. They will complete and bring their C.A.S.T form (see below) and any other available academic and/or behavioral data. We will talk about every student in the teacher’s classroom by name, strength and need.

  5. Intentional follow-up: • We will have a note taker at the C.A.S.T. meetings and keep a Google Doc with our action list so that each member on the team can see what follow-up he/she is responsible for.

  6. Timeline: • C.A.S.T meetings will occur in November, February and May in order for the team to check-in on student progress and needs. This process will also help the SST process to document interventions tried, progress made or not made, etc.
