  2. Cannot be Shaken – Heb 12:28 • “Unshaken, unmoved…no liable to overthrow and disorder, firm, stable” (Thayer) • God’s voice shook Mt. Sinai (Heb 12:26) • Now He “shakes” things that will not stand, Heb 12:25-27 • Context: Old covenant • Unshakeable things remain 12:27

  3. Things that Cannot be Shaken Remain (Heb 12:27-28) • A Kingdom, 12:28, 22 • Mt. Zion • City of the living God • Heavenly Jerusalem • General assembly and church of the firstborn • God’s dwelling place with His people Not of this world Not shaken by things of this world John 18:36

Roman Empire, Rev 17:14) • Death of its king, Matt 16:18 (Acts 2:24); Rev 1:18 • Power of sin, 1 Cor 15:54-58 THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST (Heb 12:28)

CANNOT BE SHAKEN • God’s description, 1 Pet 1:3-9 • Incorruptible: “not liable to corruption or decay, imperishable” • Undefiled: free of contaminates • Does not fade away: Unfading; Unaffected by withering (as is common in the case of flowers) • Guarded by God’s power through faith, 1:5, 7-9 THE ETERNAL INHERITANCE (2 Pet 1:11)

  7. CANNOT BE SHAKEN • Faith, 2 Tim 1:12 • Persuaded and unafraid (1 Pet 4:19) • Hope, Titus 1:2 • Hope secured by God’s integrity, Heb 6:17-19 • Love, 1 John 4:8 • God is love…love Him completely, Matt 22:37 FAITH HOPE LOVE (1 Cor 13:13)
