  1. Conservation Of Soil, Forest, and Wildlife

  2. I. Objectives • At the end of the period, students are expected to: • Discuss specific activities to conserve/protect balance in nature. • Explain the importance of conserving soil, forest, and wildlife. • Identify the purpose of conserving soil, forest, and wildlife.

  3. Planting trees

  4. Campaigns Against Illegal Logging

  5. Conservation of Soil, Forest, Wildlife

  6. Why plant trees? • Prevents or reduces soil erosion and water pollution. Trees gives people a lot of benefits/opportunities and provide habitat for a lot of species.

  7. terraces • A terrace is a leveled section of a hilly cultivated area.Terracinggives the landmass a stepped appearance thus slowing the easy washing down of the soil.

  8. Terraces

  9. Soil organisms • Organisms like earthworms and others benefiting the soil should be promoted. Earthworms, through aeration of soil, enhance the availability of macronutrients in soil. They also enhance the porosity of soil. The helpful organisms of soil promote its fertility and form an element in the conservation of soil.

  10. Some Ways in Conserving Nature: • by avoiding deforestation • by reducing pollution • by not practicing overgrazing and if necessary rotational grazing can be adopted . • plant trees on hillsides and abandoned land. • cut only matured or damage trees. • put out camp fires before leaving the camp and don't throw away lighted cigarettes.
