SPECIAL OLYMPICS • Volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics Movement in Florida. • The work the volunteers do ranges from working directly with the athletes to improve their skill in the specific sports to planning events or fundraising. • Depending on the activity, more volunteer time may be needed. • For more information, check out http://www.specialolympicsflorida.org/volunteers/community-volunteers.html

  4. Horses and the handicapped • Horses for the Handicapped are dedicated to providing effective therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities for children and adults with physical, cognitive, and emotional difficulties. • www.horseshmagic.com

  5. Volunteer at school. Check out your local hospitals If you have programs at your schools for children with disabilities, get involved!!! Place students together that have similar interests Have a field day Be your own leader
