  2. Solution 1 : glue 180um strips to inner recesses of clamp glue 400um strip onto barrel surface (same effect as strap) 180um strip clamp 6 LMTs 6 LMTs flange strap 400um strip Advantage: every harness is the same

  3. Solution 2 : glue 180um strip to inner recess where there is a strap glue 580um strip to inner recess where there is no strap glue 400um strips onto inner radius of clamp either side of recess to stop LMT lateral movement clamp 180um strip 580um strip 6 LMTs 6 LMTs flange strap 400um strips Advantage: no extra work on barrel - Disadvantage: more material

  4. Clamps for other barrels: no packing should be necessary except where there is a variation in LMT thickness and variation in strap thickness clamp Recess 400um + thickness of LMTs Recess thickness of LMTs only 6 LMTs 6 LMTs flange strap Need to know strap thickness. LMT thickness is 1.78mm for 6 tape stack (this was measured maximum of samples of reject production tapes sent to UCL) A small radius on the inner corners of the clamp recesses may help clamping.
