  2. What is Graffiti? “…graphics applied without authorization to publicly viewable surfaces to make a name for the graffiti artist. ” What is God’s Graffiti? “…graphics/revelation applied with righteous power & total authority to all of creation by which God declares the glory of His Son.”

  3. Power– Graffiti is often done in protest against power. God’s word is a manifestation and declaration of his righteous power over our false claims for power! GENESIS 1 By the power of God’s word He CREATED all things, creation bears the mark of its Creator! Job 38-39 In case you’re not getting it yet, God’s word is His RIGHTEOUS POWER Romans 10:14-17 By the power of God’s word in preaching He REDEEMS US, without his word we are lost.

  4. Authority– Graffiti is a cry for a hearing that leads to action. God’s word is the meaning-filled message of how his authority is to be applied to all of life! Psalm 119:9-12 God’s word MEETS US in the midst of our complex lives and has authority over all our seasons. Deuteronomy 10:12-22 God’s word calls us to FAITHFUL OBEDIENCE, that call bears the authority of the King of all kings. Matthew 7:21-29 God’s word is MEANINGFUL, its authority is filled with wisdom!

  5. Identity– The most familiar form of graffiti is ‘tagging’, which is a way of connecting a name with a symbol in order to express identity. God’s word as it points to Christ is his tagging to all of His creation! John 1:1-14 God’s Word is His INCARNATE PRESENCE among us, it identifies the true God of life! Romans 6:1-15 God’s word points to the FULFILLMENT OF OUR IDENTITY in His Son. Hebrews 1:1-4 God’s word points to His Son as the FULLNESS OF HIS IMAGE, in who’s image lies our identity.

  6. Power– God’s word is a manifestation and declaration of his righteous power over our false claims for power! Authority– God’s word is the meaning-filled message of how his authority is to be applied to all of life! Identity– God’s word as it points to Christ is his tagging to all of His creation!
