  4. The Vision of the Olympics • The National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan has a plan to build sports facilities if Baku becomes the capital of the Summer Olympic Games. • They have planned where the Olympic Village would be. It will be located where the Azerneftyag oil refinery.

  6. The Benefits of the Olympics going to Baku • There is a lot of public interest for the Olympics going to Azerbaijan. • It was announced that on September 1st 2011 to host the Summer Olympics 2020.

  8. Government Support for the Olympics • The Government is clearly exited for the chance to host the Olympics. • The government has planned where the Olympics is going to be. And he put in his bid early.

  9. If Baku hosts the Olympics it would be there first time. • So the government will have to fund all the resouces and structures for the Olympics.

  11. Getting to Baku • If you want to go to Baku from America you have to take multiple flights . It is very hard to travel. • When you arrive in Azerbaijan it is 25 km (15 miles) to Baku city center.

  13. Sport Venues • In Baku they are currently building an Olympic Stadium. • They plan to be done by 2015.

Infrastructure • You could say that Baku has the infrastructure of an MED (more economically developed) country. • Baku has all the basic necessities such as, clean tap water, electricity in buildings/homes, and paved roads. • There is the widely used Baku Metro, which runs throughout the capital. It currently has 22 stations, and has plans to construct 41 new stations in the next 17 years.

  17. Accommodation • Baku has a good amount of accommodation. • Tourism is playing a very large part in Azerbaijan's economy. Accordingly, accommodation is a of growing importance.

  19. Security • The main security of Baku is the Baku Metropolitan Police Department. • The country of Azerbaijan has a an land, air, and navy forces in the national military.

  21. Environmental Condition(s) • Baku’s past as a Soviet industrial center has left it as one of the most polluted cities in the world.

  23. Socioeconomics • Baku is home to the Center for Economic and Social Development. • CESD was set up to promote research into domestic and regional economic and social issues.
