Based upon Jesus being the Messiah • He was crucified and rose from the dead. • Peter – first bishop of Rome • Saul (Paul) – was a persecutor of Christians until he was spoken to by God on road to Damascus • CONSTANTINE – fought to be emperor of Roman Empire • Saw a vision of cross and saying • Put cross on soldiers’ shields and won • Became a Christian and stopped persecution
