  13. Published Notice of Hearing The following notice’s form and content is controlled by Miss. Code Ann. Section 27-39-207. This section is to clarify the impact. Due to a reduction in state funding, programs required by Legislature, increases in local operating costs and growth in enrollment, the District is requesting more local funding dollars for the 2012-2013 school year than the District requested in 2011-2012 school year. ___________________________________________________________ Notice of Tax Increase-Covington County School District The Covington County School District will hold a public hearing on its proposed school district budget for fiscal year 2012-2013 on July 23, 2012 at 5:30 pm at Covington County Vocational Center, 1200 South Dogwood Avenue, Collins, MS 39428. At this meeting, a proposed ad valorem tax effort increase will be considered. The Covington County School District is now operating with projected total budget revenue of $ 27,513,701.51 (20 percent) of $ 5,356,665.00, of such revenue is obtained through ad valorem taxes. For next fiscal year, the proposed budget has total projected revenue of $ 26,631,140.52 of that amount, (22 percent) of $ 5,645,954.00 is proposed to be financed through a total ad valorem tax levy. This increase in ad valorem tax revenue means that you will pay more in ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures, and equipment and rental real property. Any citizen of Covington County School District is invited to attend this public hearing on the proposed ad valorem tax increase, and will be allowed to speak for a reasonable amount of time and offer tangible evidence before any vote is taken. ___________________________________________________________
