  2. What is marketing? Any ideas? Here is the definition from our very own Mr Hoang’s IB textbook “The process of persuading consumers to buy your product rather than those of your competitors”
  3. How might we do this? Any ideas? Businesses focus on the “4 P’s” of marketing: Product, price, promotion and place
  4. Product Have we made a product consumers want to buy? How can we make sure we do this? How can we let consumers know this? What does our brand name say about our product?
  5. Pricing The lowest price is not always the best price – why?
  6. Promotion Firms can use a variety of ways to promote their product – what ways can you think of? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnzFRV1LwIo
  7. Place How do we sell our product? Vending machines? Small retailers? Large supermarkets? Online? Via Sales agents?!
  8. Your task….. 1. Come up with a brand name for your healthy bar. You need to be able to give a clear reason why you’ve chosen the brand name 2. Come up with an advertising slogan for your bar. 3 Design a billboard poster to coincide with the launch of your bar.
  9. Presentation… Your group must present their mini marketing plan to a panel of teachers next week. There will be a prize for the group with the best ideas and the most professional presentation. Your presentation will be 3 minutes long maximum. Any longer and you will be timed out so you will need to have a PRACTICE before the lesson.
