  3. *Boycott-a refusal to buy goods.

  4. *Sons of Liberty-a secret group of colonists that met to oppose British policy.

  5. *Samuel Adams-leader of the Boston Sons of Liberty.

  6. *John Adams-cousin of Samuel Adams, a lawyer, who defended the British soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre.

  7. *Militia-a force of armed colonists who pledged to defend their community.

  8. *Minutemen-trained militia who were ready to fight in a minute’s notice.

  9. *1st Continental Congress-(1774)delegates from colonies except Georgia, met and voted to ban all trade with Britain until Intolerable Acts were repealed.
