Henderson Middle School Overview • Constructed in 1960’s and served as High School until 1996 • Population: 1400 Students in 6th, 7th & 8th Grades • Diversity: 30 Countries and 50 Languages spoken • Demographics • 37% Caucasian • 33% Black • 18% Hispanic • 9% Asian • 3% Multi-racial • Community Profile: Surrounding Neighborhood consists of low to high income families which is reflected in the school’s population.

  3. HMS Mission & Purpose Highly Motivated for Success through the active involvement of parents, school and community. DeKalb County School System prepares students for a global society through collaborative efforts between home and school maximizing students’ social and academic potential.

  4. Community Support Henderson Middle School has an active PTSA which typically achieves 100% membership from parents. Media Specialists spearhead the Henderson Project, a non-profit organization to document the History of the Henderson area.
