  2. Course Title: Creative Photography Major Concepts/Content. The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop fundamental skills and creative approaches in photographic imagery, processes, and techniques (Fl.benchmarks for fine art k-adult).

  3. Lesson One: Photographic Composition The Six Guidelines for Better Photography • What is good composition? • Why do you think good composition is important? • Can you think of any techniques you presently use to create a visually pleasingand interestingphotograph? • Why?

  4. When You have completed the lesson: • You will know the compositional elements that formulate a good photograph. • Will demonstrate a clear understanding of good composition and the six guidelines to better photography. • Be able to edit your photos in Photoshop. • Be able to utilize the online resources to research photographic composition, design elements and principles.

  5. Continued… • When You have completed the lesson: • Have a website to share with your classmates with your photos with tips on how to take good photos. • Will possess the skills and knowledge necessary to critique your own and classmate's photographic images. • Utilize online interactive sites to practice photography skills with classmates and other photographers.

  6. For this class you will need: • A Digital Camera • Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements • Microsoft Office • Computer with internet access containing: • QuickTime • Flash • Shockwave

  7. Week One • Read lecture • Access, review, and study websites provided. • Complete accompanying handout to websites and video then submit to instructor for evaluation. • View examples of student projects • Start taking Photographs for your guidelines presentation.

  8. Week Two: • Create a guidelines project using your own photographsfor submission and critique with instructor and classmates. • Choose one for your guidelines project. • PowerPoint Presentation • Brochure • Poster • Video
