APPROVAL ARRANGEMENTS • Automatic Approval • Replacement units for those already approved for like for like units • Fast Track Approval • If already approved for 7303,7304,7305, 6317 and 6318 and your centre wishes to offer all of the new qualifications - as long as all the approval criteria are still met • Standard Qualification Approval Process. • If there are any additional units not already approved e.g. Learning and Development

CENTRE STAFFING REQUIREMENTS • Staff delivering these qualifications must: • Be occupationally competent and technically knowledgeable in education and / or training • Hold a relevant qualification: • 7318 NVQ in Learning & Development for those delivering L3, • 7304 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTTLS) • 7305 Diploma in Teaching in the LLS (DTLLS), • Cert Ed or PGCE for those delivering level 4. • Have substantial experience of providing initial teacher education / training trainers • Observers of micro-teaching / teaching must be members of the centre team • New team members must receive an adequate induction and adequate mentoring and monitoring.

ASSESSMENT STRATEGY • Assessors and internal verifiers • Staff who assess or quality assure the imported L&D and TAQA units) must hold a recognised qualification in assessment or quality assurance e.g. TAQA, A&V, or D units • Qualifications in assessment and quality assurance are not required for those who deal with units other units. However, they are strongly recommended.

Expanding your approval • The process for expanding the range of qualifications your centre is approved to offer involves; • submission of a Qualification Approval Form (QAP) • consultant scrutiny of QAP and where necessary a visit • approval is first given for candidateregistrationonly • an additional Consultant activity/visit is needed before youcertificate candidates • approval remains while Consultant monitoring reports are positive • approval suspended if no activity for 2 years • fast track approval possible where appropriate • To download QAP Form go to City & Guilds websitewww.cityandguilds.com/centredoclibrary

Updating your centre details • You must keep us informed of any changes to your original centre & qualification approval application details • The Centre update form should be used to update us about any changes • relating to: • new assessment sites • staff changes • changes to centre name, address or contact details or telephone number • If the changes are significantly different to the original application, a visit • may be required that would incur a charge • To download Centre Update Form go to City & Guilds website • www.cityandguilds.com/centredoclibrary
