  2. Bicycle Solutions in Sacramento People fall into one of four categories when it comes to bicycle riding: Strong and Fearless are happy to have roads they are allowed to travel on. Enthused and Confident are happy to bike lanes, bike paths that define a space for bicycle travel. Strong and Fearless Enthused and Confident Interested but Concerned: are happy when there is little or no interaction with motor vehicles. No Way, No how: will not be riding a bicycle. No Way, No How Interested but Concerned

  3. Bicycle Solutions in Sacramento People fall into one of four categories when it comes to bicycle riding: Strong and Fearless: 1,360 centerline miles of roads. Strong and Fearless Enthused and Confident Enthused and Confident: 300 centerline miles of bike lane and bike routes. Interested but Concerned: 84 centerline miles of bike paths and wide sidewalks. No Way, No How Interested but Concerned

(Azevedo Drive) Buffered left side bike lane. Provides refuge from high speeds. (H Street) Left side bike lane. Easier for left turning from one-way streets. (L Street)

  10. Bicycle Solutions in Sacramento OTHER BIKE LANE TREATMENTS Contra-flow bike lane. Provides opposing travel for bicycles on what was a one-way street. (12th Avenue) Half street closure with bike cut-out. Similar effect of contra-flow bike lane. (G Street)

(Natomas Boulevard) Early version of raised cycle track. (J Street) The City is working on new cycle track designs that are more consistent with NACTO guide.

  12. Bicycle Solutions in Sacramento INTERSECTION TREATMENTS Bicycle left turn lane. (North B Street and North 12th Street) Intersection crossing markings. (Carlson Drive and H St.) Through bike lane. (Bruceville Road and Damascas Drive) The City is working on designs for the Bike Box concept.

  13. Bicycle Solutions in Sacramento TRAFFIC SIGNAL TREATMENTS Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon for pedestrians (33rd Street and Folsom Blvd.) Traffic Signals oriented to detect bicycles. Both video and magnetic loops used throughout. (Numerous locations) Hybrid beacon for pedestrians (a.k.a. HAWK). (Stockton Blvd. and Sherman Way) The City is experimenting with new signal technologies.
