  2. OBJECTIVES Gathering EUNICE Scientific Communities involved in Materials Science & Engineering including Synthesis, Characterizations, Simulation, Modeling & Applications Functional materials are generally characterized as those materials which possess particular native properties and functions of their own. For example, ferroelectricity, piezoelectricity, pyroelectricity, thermoelectricity, acoustic, magnetism or energy harvesting/storage functions. The major scientific scope of the workshop concerns materials science (organic, inorganic, composites,…) and engineering covering the major aspects from theory, characterizations at macro and nano scale to applications such as MEMS/NEMS devices, acoustic sensors and transducers, microfluidics, flexible electronics,… Thematic domains (not restricted) • Materials & Chemistry • Synthesis • Materials & Energy – Environment • Characterisations • Materials & Health: • Modelling • Materials & Mobility / Transportation • From nano to macro • Materials & Technologies • Applications Workshop dedicated to Eunice Alliance ‘ Researchers & Students involved in Materials & Engineering
