  2. So what is Venturing? • Through positive experiences Venturing prepares 14-20 year olds to become responsible and caring adults.

  3. So what is Crew 186 all about? • First its about having fun! • Second its about combining the purpose of the Venturing program with the specific teachings of St Ignatius and the Catholic Church as a whole. Why St. Ignatius? Because he inspires us to go out into the world and conquer it for Christ. • Crew 186 will work to attain objectives that exceed individual capacities, while developing our understanding of our eternal purpose, to praise, reverence and serve God.

  4. THE VENTURING OATH As a Venturer, I promise to do my duty to God and help strengthen America, to help others, and to seek truth, fairness, and adventure in the world.

  5. Duty to God “Man is created to praise, reverence and serve God our Lord, and by this means to save his soul. Our one desire and choice should be what is more conducive to the end for which we are created.” St Ignatius. Our faith offers so much to see, touch, smell, hear and taste. All of our senses can be used to help us learn and grow in our duty to God. Through retreats, trips to shrines and service projects we can bring our love for God into the world and have a great time doing it too!

  6. We must work as if success depended upon us alone.  At the same time, we must be wholeheartedly convinced that we are doing nothing; it is God Who is doing everything.       St. Ignatius of Loyola helping others. Helping to strengthen America through
